The entire Antwerp tram network is subject to disruption this morning. Line 15 is particularly badly affected. Local transport company De Lijn strikes a mea culpa. De Lijn’s winter plan was not properly implemenetrd.

Disruption on the trams up in Antwerp: winter plan not properly executed

"We have got problems with the overhead lines on the entire network this morning. Tram lines are working but with delays and disruption," says spokesman Frederik Wittock.
"Normally a special winter tram runs across the entire tram network to prepare the overhead lines. That’s where something went wrong."
There is particular disruption on line 15. No trams are running on the stretch between Boechout and Mortsel Oude God. The overhead lines are not working and trams are stranded on this route. De Lijn is working on a solution and is running with shuttle buses.
