Around thirty Francophone-medium schools in Brussels and Walloon Brabant belonging to the Wallonie-Bruxelles Enseignement network have been closed following a bomb scare.
The closures follow a bomb scare on Sunday evening and are precaution.
Police are visiting all the schools involved in the course of the day to assess the situation.
"There is no reason to panic," says Cécile Marquette, deputy director-general in charge of communication at Wallonie-Bruxelles Enseignement. "In recent weeks many businesses have been affected by similar warnings. In the course of the day, the situation will be assessed to see whether schools can reopen tomorrow."
