There were five nominees for the title of product of the year “Made in Flemish Brabant" as "Made in" magazine went in search of the province's most innovative and remarkable product. De Ster’s mustard came out tops in a public vote.

Mustard factory De Ster in Lubbeek has been in existence since 1924.  Here they have been making authentic mustard with only four ingredients for almost 100 years. The entire production from seed to a jar of mustard takes place in the Lubbeek factory.

The family business is thrilled by the win. "You don't have to be big to be great," says managing director Paul Eraly. "We have lots of good products that are all stars, but we bear the name ‘De Ster’ or 'The Star' for a reason. We have a certain vision on how we make mustard. We don't use any additives; there are just four ingredients in our mustard. It's all gluten-free, sugar-free and vegan.  It’s prepared using an authentic way of working."
