Judoka sees Olympics medals stolen from her car (VIDEO)

It was a painful day for Gella Vandecaveye yesterday. The Belgian judoka discovered that her two Olympic medals had been stolen from her car. On social media, she has now appealed for her silver and bronze medals to be handed in at a police station.

When Gella Vandecaveye unlocked her car in the underground car park at Brussels South station, she noticed that her suitcase was empty.

Not only had her judo suit and toolbox disappeared, but her two Olympic medals were missing too. During her career, Vandecaveye won silver at the Atlanta Games and bronze at the Sydney Games.

The Belgian judoka now hopes the thieves will be plagued by a bad conscience. "If the thieves have regrets, they can hand in my Olympic medals anonymously to any police station," she writes on social media.

"Have fun with my judogi and toolbox, I am less attached to them," she concludes!
