Two people have been injured in a shooting at a bar in the Brussels municipality of Evere. News of the incident was first reported by the Francophone commercial broadcaster RTL and the Francophone daily ‘La Capitale’ and has since been confirmed by the Brussels North Local Police Service.

The Brussels North Local Police Service’s spokeswoman Audrey Dereymaeker told journalists that “At around 9:45 on Monday evening we received a report of a shooting at a bar on the Hendrik Consciencelaan in Evere. Two people were injured, including a women that was driving past in her car. They were given treatment by paramedic, but their lives were not in danger”.
Later on Monday evening the Brussels North Local Police Service detained a suspect. The Judicial Authorities were informed and an investigation into the shooting has been opened. In the interest of the investigation no further information is being disclosed at this stage.
