A judge has sentenced two defendants to six months in jail each following a conviction for bike theft. The two individuals were caught red-handed as they were attempting to steal an electric bike from the bicycle park at Leuven Station.
Belgian rail staff noticed what was happening and alerted the police. Inspectors apprehended the two suspects leading the bike through the station’s pedestrian tunnel. The two men were then frisked. One of the defendants was found to have hidden a pair of pincers in his underwear.
The two defendants failed to appear in court and learn they had each been sentenced to six months in jail. The pincers have been seized.
