Brussels shootings: Judicial authorities no longer rule out link with Gaza

In a statement released on Tuesday morning the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office has said that they no longer rule out a link between Monday evening’s shooting in which two Swedish football supporters were killed and the conflict in Gaza. Initially it had been said that there was no link between the conflict and Monday evening’s attack in the centre of Brussels.

"Initially we said that there was no link with events in Gaza. However, we have we have now established that he has shared a number of expressions of support for the Palestinian people on his social media. So this may have played a role." Eric Van Der Sypt of the Federal Prosecutor's Office said.

According to the public prosecutor's office, "all possible avenues" are being investigated and that "The investigation will find his precise motives”.
