The Gooreind district of Wuustwezel was rocked by an explosion last night according to media reports confirmed by the police and public prosecutors.  "Around 2am last night, a fireworks bomb was thrown at a house where a family is living. Nobody was injured, but the material damage is extensive," says Kristof Aerts of the Antwerp public prosecutor's office. Two of the house’s windows were shattered.

The Antwerp prosecutor's office has put an investigating judge on the case and is investigating whether there is any link to the drug scene. The army bomb squad DOVO attended the scene.
