Explosion at Antwerp nightclub that was the scene of fatal stabbing only last week (VIDEO)

Nightclub Ikon, near the Strasbourg Dock in Antwerp, was the scene of an explosion last night. The front door was badly damaged and fire broke out.  Police and the army bomb squad Dovo attended the scene. An investigation has been launched.

It was a little past midnight when the explosion occurred. The nightclub is located near the Strasbourg Dock and the Kinepolis cinema complex. The explosion caused wooden slats to fly off the entrance. Forensic technicians are examining the scene.

Only last week, the disco was the scene of a stabbing when a Dutchman was stabbed to death during an argument that started at the disco.
