Belgians have invested up to 70 million euros in White Sands, a ghost resort in Cape Verde. People were promised a fine yield on their investment if they bought a holiday home in the island, but the resort was never completed and many investors are now out of pocket. Tax experts fear the Belgian authorities that were in the know failed to act to protect investors.
