It’s seventy years ago. On 31st January 1953, a Saturday, a heavy storm wreaked havoc in the Netherlands, Belgium and England. Windspeeds of 10 Beaufort were recorded. Weathermen had warned against flooding, but in many places the authorities failed to act.
